You are correct when you say "Explaining the details of the Gita would require more than a short article". If a hundred people were asked to write a 500 word article on the Bhagavad Gita, you would have a hundred different articles. And though each article would appropriately describe the contents of the Gita, readers might not be that sure that the articles refer to the same book.

The beauty of the Gita is that you see in it what you need to see. And since your needs change constantly you see something different everytime you read it.

I am following a chronological order in my articles on Hinduism. It will be quite a while before I reach the stage of writing on the Gita. Time will tell how those articles shape up.
