Possibly, the psyche apart from a cohesive resolution, might be more susceptible to behavioral patterns of intolerance and indifference.

To speak to the issue of (Religious Intolerance), perhaps we should first plainly define intolerance; from there we can speak to the issue of religion and intolerance.

Definition: an unwillingness to recognize and respect differences in opinions or beliefs; an inclination to criticize opposing opinions and – an excessive intolerance of opposing views; narrow mindedness, bigotry, dogmatic.

Now that we have that cleared up, let’s address intolerance as it relates to religion, by focusing on key personality traits that lend way to questions arising from the topic itself. Last, we’ll attempt to add perspective to, and answer the more pertinent question: ‘Who’s Intolerant of Who Really? Upon completion of this query our outcome should be, (the six questions below aren’t the problem, so answering them specifically isn’t essential).

Questions arising from this topic generally are:

1) What is the principal religion? And by whose standards?

2) Why wouldn’t one Fellowship embrace another?

3) What specific differences are there between faiths?

4) Shouldn’t all religions make allowances acceptable to opposing practices?

5) Why do we fear our differences as it relates to what we spiritually believe?

6) Why would one religion oppose the concepts and beliefs of another religion?

No doubt this list could go on: in fact, discussions rooted in these same questions remain a mainstay and a constant issue of controversy, as reflected by paperwork on the floors of Congress and the Senate to date.

After a careful perusal of just the basic questions, it might appear that all religions do have one thing in common - they’re all different conceptually. Could the real question be then, ‘why won’t we respect one another’s differences and the concepts upon which our differences are predicated?’

Possibly, the psyche that’s consistently occupied by, and bombarded with the aforementioned questions apart from a cohesive resolution, might also be more susceptible to behavioral patterns of intolerance and indifference.

Overall, religious intolerance may bare the same characteristics as any other prejudice along with the same reasoning; or lack of, if you will: an unrelenting, irrational, and aversive predisposition because of differences.

In this case, one might expect a disposition of religious intolerance and indifference, solely due to an ill-will and animosity with the same. Notwithstanding, you might surmise that someone with these characteristics may be especially given to religious intolerance, along with some measure of outward demonstration.

Thus, the issue of ‘Religious Intolerance’ possibly, would go unanswered if we sought to actually answer the questions noted above, when the actual question is, ‘what?’ Not, ‘why?’ But we could hardly broach the question as to what is religious intolerance without asking about the why.

Clearly, resolution would be forthcoming if the many, and varied Fellowships across the board could adopt a collective mindset of simple respect; accepting inevitable and conceptual differences.

So, be it the continuum of things or people, and despite the origin, in the grand scheme of things it is evidenced that difference is a fact. That said, you might conclude that any blatant predisposed disposition to anything may simply be a matter of enmity based in a contrary personality.
